OK I’m panicing. I’m going to update my blog as soon as I’m done.

Usually I’m a relaxed person but I made a huge mix up with my Major Project and now I have to finish it in 1 day. It’s a 10,000 word project. If I don’t call or answer anyone’s messages it’s because I’m very busy.

I’ll update my blog later with the story and with what I did on the weekend.

    edit:
I want to add something… although I complain about Omar’s stupid things… at the end of the day he came through for me… He knows I’m working so hard to finish my work and he helped me do some research and is coming over to help me type while I’m researching… I’m so greatfull….

Vanessa also offered to help me read through my books. It’s been so great to see my friends helping me… It’s my responsibility but they are still helping me…

    Friday London

I had a great time in London. More fun than I thought I would have. I got up a bit early so I don’t miss my train. I headed to the station and sat on the train and waited to arrive in London. Maybe 30 minutes later on the train, I got a message from Anri. She said she had arrived at Picadilli and was waiting. Wow so early. I thought that she was on the way to Oxford Circus.
A few minutes later, the train stopped as we passed a station. Sadly I had the train couldn’t move anymore because of a reason and I had to take the bus. After 45 minutes on the bus I arrived at London and was on the way to Oxford Circus. I got a call from Anri asking me where I was. I was late.. I don’t like being late. I told her that I was on the way to Oxford Circus and she said that she was at Picadilli.

    K: Picadilli?
A: Yeah! Picadilli Circus. Picadilli Circus! (she was singing the song from HG video)
    K: …I thought I said Oxford Circus
A: Oh.. I was thinking about Picadilli so much that I got confused!
    K: *Confusion ConFooooo00000OOOOO!*

No problem. So I took the underground to Picadilli. When I arrived she was standing there with a big smile. She had two bags. I offered to carry it but she rejected kindly. She gave me another bag with some snacks and gifts inside it. I was so happy with it. ^_^y I like to receive small gifts. Small gifts are harder to find than big ones I think.

We went to T.G.I. Fridays to eat first. It was nice. She saw it from my blog once so at least now she could try the real thing. After eating and chatting I then showed her Japan Center followed by Oxford Circus. We walked up and down the road and she was able to look at the stores.

After finishing I went back to the room and relaxed.
Omar gave me a call. He asked me where I was and I told him I was in the room. He then told me that he was on the way to London. He was going to visit his father. His father was arriving a bit late. That was cool.

Wow anyway I need to continue some work now. This was a short break.

    Frustration
    Thursday April 26th 2007, 4:11 pm

I’ve been working hard on finishing my presentation yesterday. I feel something inside of me which is giving me more energy to push me forward. Imagine an airplane. Without force, it can’t move right? I have that force. I am the airplane. ^_^ So I took around 4 books from the library and finished my work. I took a deep sleep and woke up at 9am. I was ready for the presentation.

Now the problem is, my enivronmental professor is an asshole… I’m sorry for saying that but he’s just very rude! I arrived at 1pm as I should have, because my schedule said presentations would be during tutorials. When I arrived it was just him in the room. I said “I’m here”. He said “Who are you?”. I was surprised… Who am I? “I’m K…” He suddenly said “You’re very casual aren’t you?”

Casual? I’m relaxed… you have to be relaxed for a presentation or else you’ll make mistakes. I said “Shall I do the presentation now?” He said “There were only 7 people at my lecture at 11am so I moved the presentation time to then. You missed it”.

What?! It made me very angry! I missed it…. He didn’t send me ANY emails… he didn’t tell me he moved the date. I was about to explode. I controlled myself.

“So what is the solution sir?”.
“I’m not going to sit here and watch your presentation now”
“I’m not asking you sit here now.”
“Your presentation should be done in front of the students”
“BUt you said that there were only 7 out of 60 students this morning… even if I came I wouldn’t be doing it in front of them”

He paused for a moment. His face looked like he just remembered.

    “Come next week”

I was so angry… but I showed respect. As soon as I’m done. I’m going to complain… why is he like this with me…

I remembered a song which Maggie shared on facebook. I like m-flo alot and Monkey Majik are quite good. They are Canadian teachers in Japan that became singers. The reason I remembered the song was because life isn’t as perfect as you think it is sometimes.

I got up with some anticipation this morning. What was I so eagerly anticipating? A call? A message? An email? I don’t know. Something. ;) (I got it though :) ) I called David up since there were somethings he needed to do which I thought I could help him out with. I went over to his home to pick him up. Erisson was there too and was coming with us. He’s usually quiet when I’m around but this time he was chatting alot… I was surprised… he hardly speaks so I thought he couldn’t speak english that well. However he was quite good.

We went to the university first to sort out an issue that he had. First thing we did was go to the finance office so he could pay a fee. After that he said he was going to the library to meet Shawna for a moment. Erisson went to pick up something and I went to the bank to check my balance, deposit some money and check the transaction history. By the time I had finished, both David and Erisson were standing outside of the bank.

We headed for the undergraduate office so we could start solving his issue. They gave him a form and we had to seek out various signatures. It was like hunting game… The Support office was the second stop however it was closed. We had to come back in half an hour so we went outside into one of the squares to have a seat and enjoy the nice sun.

It was unexpected because the sun was shining brightly when it should have been a rain day. We headed to the campus shop to get some cold drinks. David and Erisson were having a smoke while I was chatting with some friends I met.

Time passed fast and we then decided to go back to the Support office. By then it was open and David went in for a chat. Me and Erisson stood outside the office waiting. We chatted about various topics but mostly about how parents seem to be more interested in the paper we receive from university (Degree) rather than our own expansion of wisdom. JUst then, three people passed by. Two girls and one guy. My first thought was “oh that girl is very attractive”. My second thought was “where are they from? they look chinese”. I looked over to Erisson. His face looked like he was trying to guess where they were from. One of the girls whispered to the other one. “You go on first” she said. “No.. you!” the other one said.

“Ok! Lets play”. They were ready to play rock paper scissor.
“Jan Ken Po. Aiko Desho!” they both said.

What?? They were Japanese….? I’m usually good at knowing the difference. I was silent. As they went in I turned to Erisson. He quickly turned to me before I could speak and said “I thought they were CHinese!”. I took a small breath. If a Chinese person thought they were Chinese then I felt better because it means I wasn’t the only one who made the mistake.

The three Japanese people came out. I looked at the shorter girl. She had a cool style. It was like a cute punk. Her face was attractive. As they walked away, David came out. Alright! One more signature needed for his paper. We went to his department but it was closed and they said he had to come back Thursday.

Since we had done what we needed to do, we decided to go eat at the Noodle Bar in town. Before going though, we took David and Erisson’s cars for a wash and clean. When we arrived at the Noodle Bar it was closed… so we had to go to McDonalds because we were starving. We sat outside as we ate our burgers and talked about how each of us was tired of different things in life.

When we were done we headed back home. We all went our own seperate ways. I sat at my pc and chatted for a bit. I saw a message from Saleh telling me that he’d be busy studying and needed to be alone and to let Omar know. The funny thing is, when I was at uni earlier in the day, I was speaking to Omar and told him that we should all leave Saleh alone for a few days so he can focus on his studies. (Because Omar goes to Saleh’s house to use his internet connection to call his mother now and then). Strange that my prediction was true ha? Anyway, also Maggie showed me her display picture. It was a picture of the plate she made me. It made me feel warm inside to see it. To be honest it looks very professional (I added the photo on “Back from the BBQ”). At that time Omar had just come over to use skype and call his mother. He noticed that I had some papers on my desk about the Prada phone. He then told me that he wants to buy one. So I got him one for his mother. Seems alot of people I know are getting or have this phone now.

Wow this is becoming quite a long blog post. Hmm… I’ll cut it short. I sent some emails. Had a bath. Ate Dinner (very late). Sent some text messages to Anri and then decided to sleep. Good night… -_- tired now…

    The visit

Yesterday was the day that Anri came to visit! It was quite a shock.
    *Phone rings*
    Kei: “Hello?”
    Anri: “Hi!!! I’m coming!”
    Kei: o_Ó

Ok Ok I’m joking, but it felt like things happened that fast. I told her how to come to my area (although there was some confusion), then started to work on my assignments. When she arrived I picked her up from the station and then went to Saleh’s house. There we met Saleh and Omar. They chatted most of the time and everyone seemed to be laughing and smiling and enjoying their time.

Saleh has the same mobile as me now. So I was helping him set it up and organize it. It’s cool to see how he was so happy with it.

Saleh and Anri then came to my house to eat and play some Wii. Thanks again Vanessa for such a cool gift!!

It was great to see the person who I knew for quite some time and chat with her and meet face to face. We shared a special moment and it was great.

The next day, (today). I took her to town so she could see it, and eat. I also went there to go to the bank to deposit some money. After eating, she said that her stomach was hurting her so we went to boots to buy some indegestion tablets. I was going to introduce her to Mr. Vodafone (Matt) because she knew him, but her stomach hurt too much. So we went back to the car and I drove her to London. (Thanks to David’s help for telling me the post code to use with my phone’s GPS)

When I got back I went to the car cleaning place to clean the car but it was closed, I then went to tesco to put some petrol. I finally got home and then started to send some text messages, work on my assignment and make some phone calls.

    Now I’m trying to relax!

Oh!! Gokce sent me a message today and told me that my assignments are due 26th of May not April!!!! I hope thats true!! I’ve got one more month to waste heh heh. Just joking. Got to be serious and finish everything as soon as possible. ^_^

It’s a good thing though because I can’t find my university papers… I need to search search search.

    Back from the BBQ
    Saturday April 21st 2007, 5:46 pm

Well today was a mix of emotions. The main reasons why I did this BBQ was because I wanted to enjoy the outside weather and I wanted to sit with some friends which I thought could be new good friends. I also invited some close friends of mine but sadly they didn’t come…. 12 people had excuses. Some promised they would come but didn’t… Some said they thought it was Sunday not Saturday… One person was in London, One person said he woke up at 4:30, some had assignments. I am disappointed in that… I wish I could have at least got a message early if they expected they couldn’t come. Anyway, in my life I’ve learned that the only person I can depend on is myself.

I enjoyed sitting with the 12 people that came. I kind of had the feeling that my Chinese friends maybe didn’t like my other friends. It’s my fault. Maybe I should have invited more Chinese people for them… I tried my best to make people happy and I hope they enjoyed.

I got a nice gift from Maggie and from Shawna. It was very sweet of them to give me something. Maggie made a plate for me. It looked very nice. It was something which could mean alot. I love it.

    DSC05486.JPG

Why did she use Mario? Because of a video I made. I’m happy because it means she likes it alot.

Sometimes people ask me why I didn’t do a big party or anything. It’s not my way. Usually people would make a party and then invite me. In my country, the birthday person is the one who is the guest. Vanessa told me that in China it’s the other way around. If its your birthday, you should do the party and invite the people and pay and so on. I didn’t know that….

For the past 4 years, Aiko was the one who always did something for me… I don’t really care about my birthday or a party. Just saying Happy Birthday is enough for me.

I enjoyed cooking.. I spent some time cooking the meat and the chicken with my special sauce and spices because I wanted them to feel my effort in it.

When I came home. I looked at my MSN messenger list. My close friend section has only 3 people in it. It’s sad. It used to be 6. The other sections are around 180. At the end of the day, it’s hard to find good friends.

My father told me that by the time you die, if you can count all of your good friends on one hand (I mean REALLY good friends), then you’ve lived a good life. It doesn’t matter how many people you know, what matters is how many people want to know you.

    Stress me up
    Friday April 20th 2007, 2:56 pm

It has been an extremely stressfull day for me. I’m happy that I have my pc back but I’m very angry that I had to pay 130 pounds for them to just say that it wasn’t a hardware problem and that formating it solved the issue. They said, “It was a program that you installed.” I said “I didn’t install anything strange! Only Photoshop and the usual programs”. They said “Must be photoshop”. I said “Even if it WAS photoshop, when I bought the PC I TOLD you that Photoshop would be my main program along with media editting tools”. *sighs* They’re idiots! I want to say bad words but I’ll control myself.

I’m also stressed because Hussain didn’t answer the phone and I needed him to help me because I dropped my car off at the garage and I didn’t want to walk all the way home. Omar didn’t answer as usual. Which annoyed me because he calls me 11 times a day and the one time I need him, he doesn’t answer.

I am also a bit stressed because my university course-work is coming up. I’m doing my best to complete it, but sadly my environmental professor is an asshole.

Now I’m updating the pc. As soon as I’m done, I’ll write about what I did yesterday and the day before. I really can’t wait for the BBQ tomorrow…

    Getting things done
    Tuesday April 17th 2007, 2:47 am

Today has been a pretty great. I woke up at around 7 am. I don’t know why though. I just felt like I had alot of energy. After I got up I started my jobs to do.
One thing I had to do was stop a company called Midphase.com from charging me. The story is, in November, they said that too many users were accessing my site (I think that’s the REASON people make sites), so they suspended my account without notifying me. Long story short, they didn’t reply to my last email in Nov 2006 so I cancelled my account.
Now I JUST saw on my statement that they charged me 74 pounds! I’ve sent them TWO emails and I’ve not received a reply yet, I tried the online chat for 1 hour and a half and nobody replied, and I called my bank to report the company. What happens is, if their actions are found to be unacceptable by the bank, they’ll be placed on a special list that will make it difficult for Midphase to charge UK individuals and therefore lose alot of potential customers.

I hate them. Imagine! It’s April now! Did they think they could charge me and I wouldn’t notice?

Anyway, I finished all my jobs at around 12pm. I even managed to fix one of my websites that I was having trouble with.

Now I just need to finish one more website and I wont have any web related responsibilities.

I want to say that I’m also super happy for a number of reasons. Vanessa has said she’s gotten me a Wii for my birthday. That is an AMAZING gift. I’m so greatfull.

    _4137-nintendo-wii-logo[1].jpg

Also, Shawna and Maggie went to Cambridge today and they brought me Chilis!! Chilis is my FAVOURITE restaurant in the world. I was a bit sad that their desert was sold out since that is the best, but I’m so greatfull they could bring it for me!

I also went to the cinema to watch a movie called Wild Hogs. It was an alright movie, but to be honest I don’t recommend it. It’s one of those movies where all the funny bits are in the commercial.

Now all I need to relax even more is to get rid of my damn assignments, get a great hug from a girl ;), get the delivery of NOS, and have a BBQ with friends ^_^
    Who’s coming?

Oh the 16th was my mother’s birthday. So Happy birthday. And the 15th was Christinas ^_^

I’ve got quite alot to do this monday. I need to call Barclays, go to HSBC, book an appointment with the garage to fix my car, call my father, call the housing agents, call Solitaire, sell some stuff which I don’t need anymore, dust the house, clean the windows, cancel some memberships, and hopefully find some time to eat lunch in between :D

It feels good to have things to do. I want to meet some of my friends but most of them are on vacation. I want to hang with my favourite group. (You know who you are). Hmm I can’t wait.

I’m also excited because of an unexpected gift. A Wii! I really want to play with some friends and just relax. I think it’ll be fun!

Omar annoyed me usual. He asked for the key to the blue apartment, so I gave it to him. When I called him to ask if he went, he said “no. I’m going tomorrow”….

I also got annoyed with one of the neighbours. She drives an S2000 and parked in my parking space. She apologized twice before about parking there and now she’s parked again. Is she stupid? or maybe she just doesn’t care. *sighs*

    I’m back
    Friday April 13th 2007, 3:03 am

Yesterday’s trip was a long one. It took 12 hours to get back. I was so very tired. The plane was full. It was quite relaxing but I was annoyed by one thing. I remembered that a man was once kicked off of a plane because he was reciting a Muslim prayer. (there is a special prayer for travel that should be said). Even arabic flights don’t say “Bismillah” anymore because it ’causes people to feel uneasy’. However there was this one Jewish guy wearing traditional clothes. As the plane was taking off, he got up, put on some robes, started to do a little ceremony, and started to tie these strange things. They looked like cubes attached to ropes. He tied one to his left arm, and one to his head. I smiled for a moment. I know it was religious, but it was a bit funny to see a man who looked like Santa Clause tie a box to his head and sit on the plane.

Anyway, the reason I felt annoyed is because it reminded me of how an unfair and unequal world we live in.

When I got to London. I waited 1 hour for my bag. It then took me 2 more hours to get back to my home. I felt a bit relaxed. I was happy to get home. It felt good to be home. I missed Shanghai though, I loved my time there. I spent around 5500 RMB on the days I was there.

On my table was my n95. It was replaced. I was happy to get it back. I was even happier to be able to play with it and enjoy some pasta. The first thing I did is check on messenger. I sent a quick email and then relaxed. I felt tired. I felt good though. I woke up at around 7 am the next morning. My sleep cycle was fixed.

It’s my sister’s birthday today. I need to send her an email to say happy birthday. My mother’s is on the 16th, mine is on the 19th. So many people on April. I feel sorry that I can’t remember birthdays so well. Maybe I could find a site which would remind me. Hmm.. I’ll search.

    My learning experience.
    Friday April 13th 2007, 2:52 am

I’ve learned quite alot from my 6 days on vacation.
“You should be on vacation!”, you say. Yes it was a vacation, but a smart person always learns from the smallest thing. I met some great people. I shared some great moments. I hope that I was also able to share some of my life’s lessons with people and help them find the right way.

I’ve seen some hot clubs. The way it works in China is that a club is more of a social space rather than a place to dance. You sit, chat, drink, play games, and dance when you feel ready to. Everyone is happy, open and free. I like it much better than the British atmosphere of clubbing.

I’ve met some great people. Its amazing how one person can change your view of the world. I hope that I was able to show people that Qatar is a great and fun place to visit. There were all types of people that showed me that what you see isn’t always what you get. I met a small girl who has more energy that the biggest man. I met a shy 6 year trained kung fu expert who couldn’t handle his drink. I met girl who looked like she was posh, but she was someone who worked hard for what she wanted. I met a guy who couldn’t speak a word of english, but could rap to 50 cent.
I hope that the advice I’ve given people will always be remembered.

I’m greatfull to David for giving me his time. When he comes back, I’m sure that he’ll be on the receiving end of a great hug from Shawna.

I hope I’ll be on the receiving end of one too…

    Day 5 of the vacation
    Tuesday April 10th 2007, 7:08 am

I woke up today with a bit of a sweat. Luckily though my stomach was feeling a bit better. I had a shower and then laid down. I decided that I would try my best to ignore it and try to go out. I went out with David to eat at some tall building (insert name here). It was alright. I was starving, but we agreed that the food wasn’t that good.

The weather was amazing. Soft breeze, nice sun, David dropped the roof on his beautiful Carrera and it felt great. My stomach felt a bit better.

We then went to do some quick shopping. I bought a gift ;) from a shopping mall really quick and we both started to feel tired as the sun was going down. We then went back to the hotel to have a quick nap.

We both slept for around 30 minutes, but those 30 minutes were the best 30 minutes of sleep I ever had. I felt so relaxed. We got up and then headed out to 1001 Nights. Its an arabic restaurant in Hengshan that has food, belly dancers, and shisha. Probably one of the better places in Shanghai.

I was worried that they might not like it (we were 7), but luckily they all enjoyed the food. I was so happy to see Thomas’s face. He looked like he wanted to eat everything on the table if possible. They all then got to try some shisha. I showed them how to try it properly. I told them that they might get a bit dizzy or feel super relaxed. A few moments later they were all smiling.

After finishing, we all went to another place called Barbarossa. (Oh before then we stopped at a pharmacy so I could get some medicine) It was an arabic chill spot with a moroccan feel. The main reason for seeing it was so it could give me an idea for the club I have. It looked good. It felt nice. I wanted the club/bar to be more ‘magical’ though. We laid back, had some drinks, had a bit of shisha and just chatted.

I decided that I need to buy David’s parents something for being so nice and taking care of me. I don’t know what I can give them though.

    Day 4 of the vacation
    Sunday April 08th 2007, 4:41 am

Today was the day that we were going to Bund 18. It was a small bar on the bund that was quite popular. We met up with Thomas and a few of his friends. We sat there, enjoyed the view, played a few games and then we left. We stayed there for around an hour or two. I can’t remember I just remember that I was very tired because I got up at 8 am.

I wasn’t feeling too well either, my stomach was killing me. It must have been because of a sandwhich I ate in the morning. My stomach wasn’t feeling good at all so when I went back I just drank plenty of water and then tried to sleep. I wished there was someone there to take care of me. It doesn’t matter. I’m strong. I accepted the pain as a man. What could I do?

Until the morning I kept waking up. The problem is, it wasn’t normal. Everytime I got up, I’d be sweating. I look at my watch and then feel like “Oh, I’m late!!” Then I’d go back to sleep. It’s like I was still dreaming. I was imagining things….
