STUPID INTERNET!! I WROTE A LONG BLOG POST AND IT WENT DOWN!
“Wow what a full day I had. I had to get up in the early morning and head straight off to a meeting with a company (can’t put the name in here yet.)
Now I’m just going to write bullets because I’m lazy to retype it all again.
- 9am-1pm - Meeting
- 2pm-4pm - QFMA HSBC Meeting
- 5.30pm-7.30pm - GBCorp Meeting
- Went home, worked on ILQ, different things, slept
It’s been a busy day at work. Besides the usual jobs to do, my dad has given me the extra task of trying to find a compound, an apartment building, and a farm. I just need to find one of the other within his budget. I don’t really have the time to do this…
I’ve got this kind of three strike rule. I don’t know why, but even if I want to stop it I couldn’t. It’s embedded within me. When I invite someone to something, I give them three chances to ditch. It doesn’t matter what the reason is unless it’s extremely valid.
Now since I was younger, it’s proven to be a very effective method. It’s helped me to realize who the reliable ones out there were and who the ‘whatever, let’s see what happens’ people are.
It just frustrates me when you invite people and their assurances tend to have no meaning.
I saw this story on a forum and wanted to share it.
An old Qatari man had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole, which he carried across his neck.
One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the man bringing home only one and a half pots of water.
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the man one day by the stream.
‘I am ashamed of myself, be cause this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.’
The old man smiled, ‘Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?’
‘That’s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.’
‘For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.’
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding.
You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
You know it’s wierd, Windows Live Desktop doesn’t work in Qatar. I tried to figure out why it doesn’t for ages. While accessing a VPN I noted that Windows Live Desktop works!
Means one thing… there’s an issue with the ISP.
I wonder how many other ISPs affect it and what’s the cause.
Oh well… Just another useless annoyance to add to the list
Well, it’s off to Tokyo tomorrow night.
I’m all packed and ready. I hate that feeling that you might have forgotten something though.
Just had a great two hour nap. Updated ILQ and now it’s time to slumber.
