    You hurt my…
    Tuesday January 29th 2008, 2:41 pm

So I was chatting on messenger today and using skype. I was talking to my friend while waiting for my uncle to get back to me, because we were supposed to go to the gym at the Marriott. So I started to dial my uncle’s number and mistakenly called it without noticing.
As usual I was singing a stupid song while my uncle was on the line. (I didn’t realize).

Kei: “You hurt my feelings♪, you hurt my heart♪,…. you hurt my aassss♪”.
    Uncle: “What song is this?”
    *I froze*
Kei: “Uh this is a new song, it’s the latest.”
Uncle: “What sort of a song says you hurt my ass?”
    Kei: “Uh… the new ones…”

    What a strange moment.

I went to al saad road because that’s where the QP interview was. So I went to the Royal Plaza only to be told that it was the wrong branch… so I quickly left to the other building; which wasn’t that far to be honest.

So I went to the third floor’s Humar Resources section and introduced myself.

Man: “What are you here for?”
    Kei: “I have an interview.”
    Man: “With who?”
Kei: “I was just told to come here for the interview”.
Man: *goes and checks* “nope, nobody knows who you are.”

So I pick up my phone and give a call. (I call the Head of Humar Resources).

Kei: “Your boss says he’s waiting for me. Did you check with your boss?”
    Man: “No.”

What the hell? So by the time I fill out some papers and this is all sorted, guess what? 45 minutes has passed and I miss my interview. So I’m told I’ll get a call.

As I’m leaving I get a call from Head of Finance at QNB who says he wants to meet me tomorrow morning, so lets see what happens.

I went out with my father today to go buy a few things. I needed to buy some curtains for the room and ended up with some wooden blinds. Didn’t do much to be honest.

Oh I checked on my store’s license to see if it’s been ‘released’ yet, but as usual they’re taking their time.

OH OH! I bought these awesome sheep skin carpets for my car. They look so awesome and feel so soft! Check it out!

    I’m TIGER WOODS!

They had the International Masters Open in Qatar yesterday, it goes on for three days, so I went over with a couple of friends of mine who were interested in it. I’m not really that into golf but I thought it would be a change.
I went there yesterday to enjoy going around but went again the next day for this small competition. I didn’t really feel confident because I’m one of those people that will only do something if I’m good at it or at least practiced and I’ve only ever played golf once before.

Long story short, my first hit was a hole in one! My friend’s were shocked and some people nearby went WOAH Hole in One! I felt good! Sadly I was a point off into going to the next stage though. The prize was a dinner for two, but who’d I take anyway?

So we all headed to a few places including Papa Johns for some pizza and then went to City Center so I could pick up a few things and so Hussam could rent a car.

Wasn’t much after that except staying at home because I have an interview tomorrow with QP. Have to go to bed!

    Presentation no no
    Wednesday January 23rd 2008, 8:53 pm

So the presentation wasn’t really that nice. It was basically some guy talking about his history and how he did his company and seemed to apply more to people who were professors and wanted businesses. It was also very technical.

I was expecting something more general and perhaps an explanation of how to balance life. I didn’t learn anything that I didn’t already know. I think I spotted Muqeem there too but I wasn’t sure.

Ah well. Time to relax now and wake up early. I want to make a nice simple file of my business plan.

    I have INTERNET!

So I was woken up at 7:30 by Qtel. They called to tell me the guy was on the way. After explaining how to get to my house a million times, they finally arrived; at 9….
The guys were actually friendly and helped me set up my wireless router. I’m so glad because I now have high speed internet and I can watch tv via streaming.

    Life feels better :P

Now all my systems in my room are updating. It’s funny how things always need an update and yet you hardly see any differences. On a side note, here are Qtel’s adsl settings if you are setting up your own modem.

    PPoA

as for your username it’s usually p(yourphonenumberhere) and the password varies so ask your network.

Tonight I’m going to go to a business presentation at Qatar’s Science and Technology City with my “possibly” future workmate Laek. It’s going to be held by some Professor who’s going to give insight on balancing your job and personal businesses. It might be boring, but then again, it’s a good chance to network a bit.

Tomorrow around 4pm I’m going to meet this Professor of Design at Virginia Commonwealth, he was one of the designers of Final Fantasy Spirits Within and a few other Disney animations. I’m hoping that he can help me bring a few of my ideas to life.

I got a call from Qatar Petroleum today saying that they may want me to go in for an interview. My father told me to do it anyway because they may give me a better offer. Why not I guess. Let’s see what they have to offer.

    QNB
    Tuesday January 22nd 2008, 2:33 pm

Don’t you have one of those mornings where everything happens at once?

I was woken up early because the maid knocked my door. She said that guys came for the sliding doors and Qtel had come to check my phone line.

So I let the Qtel guys do their thing first. I was annoyed because they tried to blame ME for the problem. When I explained that the LAST guy said it was an exchange fault, they then blamed the wire. So I said, ‘fine’ no problem, I don’t care who’s fault it is as long as the internet is installed tomorrow. They agreed and left.

The door guys then started to dismantle the old door to replace it. They took a LONG time and even removed some paint from the wall. It looks so ugly where they did it. Why don’t they take care? After FIVE hours or working, they finally installed the WRONG DOOR. They put a door with a handle from ONE side. Are they stupid? They then said they’d change it tomorrow.

As I was inside changing my clothes, my phone rang. It’s strange that the phone ONLY rings when you’re doing something. Brushing your teeth, changhing clothes, driving with the phone in your pocket or even eating. It was a woman named Ghadeer from QNB. She asked for a bunch of certificates and papers.

So I headed over to my father’s office to get a copy of everything and then drove off to QNB at the Hamad Al Kabeer Branch. When I entered, I had to get a pass to go to the 5th floor. I pointed at the gate and said “this way?” (I was asking the security guard). Now the hallway was very wide and this woman tried to walk through my arm. She was far away BEFORE I pointed and she had room to go around me, but she just huffed and walked. She looked european. Why are there these types of people in the world?

I went up handed my papers and Ghadeer said she was expecting someone older. My voice sounds very respectfull on the phone apparantly. I also had to fill out a useless form (since everything was on the cv). Seemed that they were pretty pleased that I’d be part of their team.

    We’ll see how things go.

    Everyone knows that’s Omar!

Yep! It’s time for another Omar story! Yes Yes, you want to ask me, “Why are you still hanging with him if he’s such an idiot?”. I don’t know, but think of it this way, if I didn’t, you wouldn’t have funny stories to read!

So I call Omar to let him know about an audition, but as expected, he didn’t answer.

    I called him DIRECTLY!
    Here is the text conversation.

    Omar: Did you call me?

    Kei: Yes

Omar: Call now if you can (He didn’t bother to call #1)

Kei: No. You call my Qatar number (he was texting me on my Bahrain number and it costs international tarriffs)

Omar: No credit (That’s odd, three texts = at least 1 minute of call time)

Kei: I’m poor myself and what I wanted to tell you benefits you not me.

Omar: What’s your number and you on messenger (no comment)

Kei: Are you just trying to waste money with texts? Check your missed calls for my number and check online to see if I’m online. (I know I could have just told him but he annoyed me, so I thought I’d annoy him)

Omar: I’m out and no number (Please note that he could have talked to me for at least 2 minutes by now).

Kei: Then f*** it, it’s a major loss for you. (lol)

Omar: What the F***, I checked missed calls and it says no number. (uh…. )

    Omar: That’s me!

The neverending list of things to do
    Saturday January 19th 2008, 7:07 pm

I hardly did anything today, but it’s tomorrow that I have alot to do.

    1) Audition for a movie (I’ll explain)
    2) Marriot club membership
    3) Call Qtel for internet (yes they didn’t do it yet)
    4) Check if I have been given the license for the new shop
    5) Get university certificate
    6) Drop Dreambox at grandfather’s house
    7) Go to Ministry of traffic to get a permit for glass tint
    8) Go to Ministry of Interior to apply for the new e-Cards
    9) Meet cousin
    10) Buy a Dual Layer Blank cd

Anyway, it’s a ton to do.

So I sent an email to one of the partners of this agency that basically get’s talent. I was just sending a hello and said I’d be free these days if needed. So she sends me an email and tells me that there is an urgent audition for a movie. Simple as that really. Need to call tomorrow.

Omar has been trying to become an actor (too). So I thought I’d be nice and let him know about it. Read the post above this for another story.

I guess I need to really get serious with iloveqatar.net because time is short and it’s only a matter of time before I need to sort it all out.

    -1 dream?

    192.jpg

As readers of my blog will know, one of dreams is to travel the world. I want to go places and see things and experience wonders.

However I’m sitting here thinking about when I’m going to be able to do that… Once I start my job officially, I doubt I’ll have much of a vacation to go and view the world. With the way things are going for me…. I think that I’ll have to wait until retirement before I can travel.

I’m trying to think seriously now… is this it? Do I work hard and aim to be rich and end up not being able to spend my wealth? Don’t get me wrong. I love to work hard. It’s a great feeling to have various businesses. I do want people to recognise my name…

What do I do? Maybe I’m just thinking too much. Maybe I will have time to travel while working. Who knows… I still need to get my club, cafe, restuarant, and other projects out in the open. Perhaps if they’re all successfull, I’d be able to quit and have an early retirment. Ah, imagine, Qatar’s youngest business man, retired at 25.

Am I making the right choice? I don’t know… DAMN YOU APPLE, I CAN’T STOP THINKING ABOUT THE MACBOOK AIR! I’M TRYING TO BE SERIOUS!

    Empathy

I’m sorry if I did anything wrong to my girl. When I explain my feelings, it’s not to argue or to be mean. I’m the type of person that has to show how I feel at the time. I believe that empathy is important in any relationship and that bottled feelings only lead to issues further down the line.

It’s always better to make sure that there is a clear understanding that have any misunderstandings at all.

I guess saying something shows that you care because if you didn’t, it means you feel you have nothing to lose in the first place.

Hanna: Oh shit! That means I’m leaving on the 19th on the morning!

I saw the new MacbookAir yesterday, it’s so thin! It’s amazing! I want one! Damn me and my gadget addiction.

    Finally have internet

Well I haven’t been online because I’m not in Bahrain and I didn’t have internet access in the house. I finally got it to work but I’ve got alot of posts to catch up with.

Crap weather that’s for sure. Bahrain and it’s amazingly overpriced everything.

I find myself with no time to exercise at all *sighs*

On a side not, they were supposed to set up m internet in Qatar but they didn’t. Another stupid job for me to deal with.

    NAC to CHN

Doha North Atlantic College is awesome. I can’t even believe it’s a college. It should be a university. My cousin studies there at the moment and needed me to help him move to CHN (Holland Uni). So I went with him in the morning to just talk to student relations to see if I could get him transfered.

CHN itself is pretty nice, but they’ve got a parking problem. The way it is, is just not practical. People have to park on the streets. The campus itself looks nice because it’s designed to look like a Medival Arabian Castle. When leaving the place and getting the papers, there were some redbull girls on the street in their modded mini cooper.

They asked if I wanted a redbull so I said sure why not. We started chatting for a while and they were very friendly. Both studying in Canada and just working during the winter here in Qatar to make some pocket money.

Pretty nice day so far. I think I’ll be going to Bahrain tomorrow and hanging there until I go to China or have anything important to do in Qatar.

Sometimes my father is a nice guy, sometimes he’s an asshole. He’s the type of person that always wants to act like the boss and if you try to get a word in he says something along the lines of “Why do you always want to argue?”.

The point is, sometimes he’s just wrong! But if you try to dispute it he’ll give the same stupid reply “If you always argue with people you will never get anywhere, accept people’s opinions, you aren’t always right.” The thing is, I think he should take his OWN ADVICE.

For example, we were talking about my new business and he says “Let me give you an idea.” So he explains it, I listen. I then explain to him why the plan probably won’t work. He replies with “I’m just giving you an idea, I didn’t say you should use it. It’s just an example to get you to start thinking.” Wtf? We’re supposed to be snowballing and brainstorming. He always thinks I’m arguing when I’m trying to discuss.

I need my father for his experience and his assistance, but otherwise, I’m seriously wondering how life will be as his partner.

He complains if I forget something, but then complains if I don’t remind him the next day. *sighs*
